Cry of Desperation

I’m just looking for a quiet place where I can fall apart
The pressures build within me like a volcano
How long can I put off what seems to be inevitable?

I’m just looking for a quiet place where I can fall apart
A respite from the darkness that hovers like a lost soul
Can I see the light that beckons, as a lighthouse to a sinking ship?

I’m just looking for a quiet place where I can fall apart
Death seems like a long lost friend
Perhaps I should renew the acquaintance…

I’m just looking for a quiet place where I can fall apart
Emotions flow like the relentless tides
Never still, waves of the painful memories and bitter hurt

I’m just looking for a quiet place where I can fall apart
Hope may be the thing with feathers that perches in the soul
But the wings only mean that it can easily fly away, never to return

I’m just looking for a quiet place where I can fall apart
I may never understand the reasons why
Heaviness, heartache, tears are my only nourishment

I’m just looking for a quiet place where I can fall apart
Is there really a balm in Gilead?
Do all things have to have meaning, or are they only fate spinning webs of deceit?

I’m just looking for a quiet place where I can fall apart
Some place really quiet where I can fall apart

The repetition reinforces the element of internal pain. Yet another powerful piece, Pendragon.

Well yes, there is " a balm in Gil'ad", and it must be comforting... your words exorcise the pain, I hope... and spring never fails to follow winter... thank you for your sharing, Pendragon, sad and essentially poetic!

 Pen, you depicted a torment of the soul vividly! I am so sorry to read that! Giving you warm wishes and positive thoughts! As usual, your way of including repetitions of lines sound well here too! Take care!
