Bird-brain

Birds are of inquiring minds,
watch their tilted heads
listening for answerers
to questions carried
in the wind.

They flit about chasing
after stolen dreams
to explore the mysteries
of life.

Perched together
they philosophize,
eagerly comparing notes
as they twitter out
their thoughts.

What observers take
for simplicity is their
prejudiced eye,
watching small flighty bodies,
their ears not equipped to
decipher the expedient tweets,
so they believe it senseless chatter.

But those fine-feathered
creatures exchange secrets
of our world and perhaps
seek to understand worlds
far beyond.

I've spent a lot of time with birds and this much I know to be true... they are not birdbrains! And even though they don't always perch together (for the most part raptors are loners once they've fledged) they still understand one another. You had me with the title... lol. Nice...

Hehe thank you, yes, the irony behind the title is if someone calls you a bird-brain don't take it as an insult. :D

Instead thank them, and leave them completely confused :brow:

Wise men can "understand" and "converse" with birds of whom it is said they have the knowledge "of the beginnings", remember all, are inquisitive about everything in the creation and have so many answers for us humans...
The title is great! thanks for your birds' manifesto, or, should I say - Credo!

I appreciate your power of observation. Not everybdy can see what you could..it reminded me of my childhood....when i used to spend hours watching sparrows in the backyard. It was quite nostalgic to me.!
