wandering same old cold streets
i find myself feeling a little
inspired, a little wired on life
i'm smiling at the thought of
settling down with a wife
renting a place in city of lights
and living high on love
and i know i'm young
and i know i don't know
what i want just yet
but the idea of a living room
lit by more than a television set
is stuck in head
and as much as i've shaken it
the image is lodged somewhere
in my cranium, there to stay
and a blind man once told me
faces change, so as mine grows
older and evolves i just dream
of rolling over on a sunday morning
in the autumn and noticing the leaves
falling slowly by the window
and when i dream this dream i know
that the warmth, the soft golden glow
eminating from my beaming face is
nothing more than patience
and a passion for chasing dreams
because faces change
but dreams are born fully formed
and whether they're fulfiled or forgotten
they're always gonna look the same

Nice poem. Especially the idea to compare the mutable physical forms with stability of dreams. Although it sounds strange, because the notion of dreams is usually connected with something illusory, your poem succeeds to prove the opposite, whatever the meaning of the word dreams may be - an experience during the sleep, or a symbol of a lofty wish.

A beautiful poem! it flows like a stately river, rocking almost, rocking to a place where dreams for sure are not illusions, but often goals achievable. Passion and Patience are Dreams' best servants! You were inspired, thank you, Sampson

I much enjoyed this poem as well as I always enjoy your poems. Reminds me of a young man trying to figure out whether he should propose marriage or not.

I liked this a lot. The last three lines reminding us that dreams are really something of amazing stability in our lives. They can pull us through the toughest times.

Thanks, Sampson.
