Brother
By Humble Wolf
I’m on the run
Out with my friends
I’m on a street that never ends
I see a star
From afar
I make a wish this never ends
At the end of our direction
We made a connection
With another car
And the last thing I remember
Was my brother
Screaming, “Oh dear lord!”
“Baby please speak to me
Don’t lay there lifeless
Comeback to me.”
Then we realized what had happened
Just a simple distraction
And she was gone
I wore black on a Sunday morning
But I did not go to church
The eulogy was everlasting
I’ve never seen a family so hurt
There I sat inside that moment
I felt atonement
For another lost soul
We are still feeling sorrow
There’s no tomorrow
Life can be so cold
Now my brother is completely broken
His wife has been stolen
By the lord above
And excuses far surpassing
All the bad things
I’ve ever done
And I know that this life
Can be so hard
Even on you
Who knew that this would happen?
Surely none of us
No one had a clue
If we could go back and change
That wouldn’t even be a question
Of what to do
But the past will remain unaltered
We must keep moving forward
I’m here for you
