For short-lived thrills and delights
Such madness to think they’re true at least
For deceptive misleading eye contacts
For all-for-nothing defiance of the orthodox
For hopes sensed to be false but still embraced and squeezed
til they’re crushed
For laboring to dig up that common rhythm
only to find a cavity
One of those fits of bitterness unveiled
Another trick of time
Oh please, spare me another lecture
What idiocy and folly!
Its power-trip, like it’s god
Its feigned righteousness like a savior

Feel, not think—they’re not on the same plane.
