Want to know what you all have to say about indirect characterization, esp in MOV. I'm thinking this is where the author uses the characters to develop each others' personalities by providing hints about one another. I am thinking that what the men in the play say about each other is especially important. In particular, the men establish that Antonio is sort of a melancholy fellow which he confirms with his famous quote about the world being a stage and his role to play being a sad one. Also, Salarino and Salonio seem to exist solely to provide information about the various elements of the plot, about the other characters and to provide connections between the various scenes.

What do you think?:alien:
