does anyone remember I children's story / poem about a nut that grew on 'The tip top branch of the hazel tree'? My Mum read it to me when I was little and I want to find the words as part of a present I'm making. I remember that the nut grows to be the biggest and best and lots of 'people' ( a squirrel, bird, nut picking children) want to pick it but the nut always sings a verse ending with 'tip top branch of the hazel tree' and remains unpicked. then it gets very sleepy and eventually gently falls off and lands at the base of the tree and gets covered with leaves. Next spring when the tree looks down it sees a baby tree growing. I can't find a reference to this story in google. did anyone else ever know this story - can you remember more details - do you actually have a copy!? please help! thank you
