It seems that since I retired I've been spending more time at my keyboard writing things that have no place to go. Let me drop by this forum occasionally for some stimulation, challenges, ideas, laughs or just some talk about books and writing. I don't know if what I'm doing has value or interest beyond my monitor. Maybe I'll have the opportunity to share and get some feedback. And yes, there are so many good books out there already in print that need to be read. I'll get started now, but don't wait for me. I'll try to catch up.
I'm a "baby boomer", retired from 30 years in public service and my wife of 35 years is battling cancer. I've written screenplays, poetry and short stories. I have a couple novels planned, but the effort is daunting and my attention span is limited by age, demands away from the computer and that bottle of whiskey on the counter.

You are welcome here! You will enjoy our company. Do not worry that you are retired. You may have lots of things to share with us, some experiences, but bitter and sweeter as every does have in the course of his or her life. sharing has two direct advantages: first it will lessen or reduce your level of stresses and secondly if you enjoy something in life share it the feeling with others it will double or multiply.

This forum has people from all arenas of life and coming from different backgrounds and experiences you will have lots of things to share with other posters and will have lots of things to learn from all.

This world is really very big and has people of all classes and beliefs and it is really excitable to share our feelings, experiences with three goals: one learning, teaching and entertaining.
