Timmy did not like waking up.

Early every morning, he would have to leap out of bed, pull on a toque and run into the bathroom before anyone else was up. He would pull of his hat and jump into the shower.

After shampooing furiously, Timmy would comb his hair intensely. He used a brush and a comb and mousse and hair gel to try to keep his hair looking normal.

But nothing he could do would do the trick, his hair kept sticking out at funny angles. You see, every night, while he slept, Timmy's hair was licked by a cow!

Every night before bedtime, Timmy would search his room for cows. None in the closet, none under the bed. No cows behind the curtains, no cows in the clothing hamper.

Then Timmy's mummy would come tuck Timmy into bed after his daddy read him stories. They would each kiss him on the forehead and say good night before shutting off the lights and closing Timmy's bedroom door.

Then Timmy was left alone, waiting in the dark. Every night, he'd try to stop the cow from licking him. He'd fall asleep with the blanket over his head, but the cow was already under the covers and gave him a good smooch before Timmy could wake up.

He'd put on a tonque tied to his head, but the cow's delicate hooves could untie the knot without waking Timmy up.

He stuck his head under the pillows, but the cow's long tongue could find its way between all the way to Timmy's head, nestled fast asleep between the cushions.

Timmy was at a loss. So tonight he would confront this confounding cow who kept kissing him. He waited in the darkness with a flashlight in hand. Something rattled in the corner and Timmy shone the light on it.

It was just Timmy's cat, stretching before going back to sleep. Something moved the curtains and Timmy spun around with the flashlight.

It was just the wind blowing through the open window. Something creaked in the closet. Timmy leapt out of bed and shone the light into the darkness. It was just a toy falling over.

Timmy settled into bed again, flashlight in hand. Everything seemed to be normal, no cows to be found anywhere.

Then Timmy felt the cool, hay-scented breath on the top of his hair. He slowly turned around and found the cow, perched on the headboard! Before he could stop the cow, the cow leaned down and gave Timmy a warm wet smooch on the top of his head.

Timmy cried out in amazement as the cow smiled and then gracefully bound out the window into the night.

Timmy's mummy and daddy ran in to his room. They had heard him cry out. Timmy pointed to his wet hair and then to the open window, telling his parents about the cow's kiss.

Timmy's parents just laughed and told Timmy that cows don't cause cowlicks...

This was great stuff. I laughed outloud (aloud) Thanks, I needed that.
