Hello,
My name is Sam; I'm a young writer, living in England. I have a day job and all that, but my passions are travel and writing. I'll be heading off to fulfil the former in a few months, so recently I have turned my attention to my words.
I come from a family that loves to read, with a steak of literary creativity. This is certainly a major influence, however not the way I myself started to write. Now I write poetry and prose, but I came to them through Hip Hop music. I was a rapper, an emcee. To me it the most fascinating type of poetry, being so contemporary and so controversial. I began to craft rhymes, and then began to put a certain passion behind them (mostly inspired by teenage angst). As I grew up I started getting interested in American 'Road' Literature; I discovered Kerouac, spontaneous prose and the beats. And here I am, a few years and lot of pages later.
I write about my own experiences, and have developed certain characters that reflect my formative years. My poetry can be about anything, and I use it to experiment with the English language, which is what I love most about writing.
I look forward to posting, reading and conversing!
