There really is no 'top' and a 'bottom'
anymore
In the arts
only justification
and exposure.
The narrowing of the divide
has left the (w)hole of the artistic field
reduced
to a shredded compost heap,
a wretched million-headed chimera
of different movements and ideas
ground up into hamburger meat
and strewn around
with shattered snow globes of cultural microcosms
dripping the semen of a broken bourgeois
on the cliffs of obsolescence;
something will grow
somewhere
probably everywhere
but it belongs
to everyone.

i'll try to appeal to as many of those chimera heads as possible. i think those who know art are able to discern quality. perhaps this is the author's frustration, that discernment isn't being applied. perhaps his thought is like mine with music, that the audience is accepting less quality because they don't know any better.
