the psyche;
a sweat-drenched anathema, compliant and submissive to your cruelties
breathing laboriously.
the enigma of the exhale,
knowing, in order to survive
you must breathe in again.
the elasticity of your pseudospeech, breached in speckles of verity,
enscribed in ticker tape.
and
sui generis
your lips, in red,
against the canvas, a cartographic representation
of where they will plea for salvation
the severe pleasure of demise, a raining crevasse from the stars
we will burn by the hands of our brothers
swooning with whores on red bisons
naked, and shivering
in coffers of veils and blankets of membranes
hanging off the busts of our daughters
we will walk in formation
calloused heels and sandy toenails
until the end of the road
and genuflect
into nothingness

i like the way you ended without sugar coating. 'speckles of verity'. i like 'the enigma of the exhale', bringing out vulnerability. i can imagine the described chaos .

I run out of hyperbolic critical praise to throw on you and your poems, paperleaves. I think from now on you'll just have to make due with me offering you this smilie that represents my feelings towards you: http://www.compasstower.com/images/bowdown1.gif

I will say this though: I love that you make me look up words! It's always nice to expand one's lexicon. There are plenty of good ones in this piece; anathema, cartographic, genuflect, etc.

Morpheus, haha, that smiley man is amazing. Thank you so much :) I appreciate your comments! p.s. the recent sonnet you posted is incredible. I only wish I could write poetry in form like that!
