A Rich and Fruity Earthiness
The subtle hue of autumn’s dew
Vision soft diffused
When men shall dwell on years gone by
And women gently muse
On springtime days and youthful times
And of their heart’s desire
To when the flame of love was young
There burned within a fire
A fire tis bright when first is lit
Yet heat it throws with time
And like a draught of nectar’s grape
Tis best to sip laid wine
Full bodied mellow warm and soft
It lingers on the tongue
Into the senses gently warms
With depth beyond the young
You are to me no Beaujolais
Nor Riesling from Alsace
No Burgundy compares to you
So sweet within my glass
To roll your grace upon my mind
Imbibing softness sweet
You are my love the finest wine
The Château de Lafite
And when I sip from your sweet lips
Inhale your fruit bouquet
A rich and fruity earthiness
Shall dwell with me each day
To linger on my inward thoughts
To drink and quench so deep
And plant a vineyard in my heart
That shall forever keep
Plump autumn’s glow of crimson soft
Which summer ripeness leaves so fine
Intoxicated by your love
This eau-de-vie
This sensuous wine
The subtle hue of autumn’s dew
Vision soft diffused
When men shall dwell on years gone by
And women gently muse
On springtime days and youthful times
And of their heart’s desire
