My deceased father in the 70's and 80's used to belong to a "club" where he was sent a beautiful leather bound book monthly that was also signed by an editor or someone involved in the book. Im sure they weere expensive, and i believe the name of the service contained the word "franklin" in it. Does anyone know any information about this or if they still exist?

I think you mean these. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin_Library#60_Signed_Limited_Editions_.28197 7-1982.29) My dad subscribed to a club, at the same time, that sent out classics with gorgeous bindings, I'll bet it was the same company.

It is the Easton Press, and they publish classics as well as many other things like books by ex Presidents. They have a website and you can request a catalog from them.

The classics they publish are mostly reprints of the Limited Editions Club which published books from 1929 to 1985. They purchased the right to publish the reprints from the current owner of The Limited Editions Club which now publishes 'books under glass' or books which are issued in small quantities and cost up to several thousand dollars.

If you like what the Easton Press has published, I have several of the Limited Editions Club reprints for sale which are currently out of print. They are like new with several never opened for reading. If you are interested, you can send me a personal message through this forum.
