May be you can post one of the most important books of the Ancient Japan; it is Genji-Monogatari (In English History of Prince Genji); I had readt many reports about this book and they say that the books is one of romance and that the author (Murasaki Shikibu) is an important lady during the period of Hseian.

Thank you.

Special thanks to Encyclopedia.com

PD: Can the administration tell me if this book is out of copyright please?

Thank you again.

I have just read the Royall Tyler translation of Genjimonogatari (murasaki shikibu). This translation was really great in that it captures the sentiments of the time in such a refreshing way. I found myself wholly moved by the emotions in this tale...and it seemed as though I had myself experienced over 100 years in Heian Japan. I would definitely reccomend this translation. However, I have yet to read other translations.

That appears to be what I felt.
