ancient dollar bill's
dubious worth:
trapped washington's
thin confidence,
tear-traced
like undoubting signatures
declaring archaic ideals,
languidly deviated over
tired time
purchasing severed, sour fruit
from treasury's puberty press,
naive axe curiosity
as eve esteemed lust
over free ancient vision;
silly mortals
taking a ransom road
toward locked paradise treasures,
lording what's left,
sealing fate
in cheap paper and ink

A very uniquely written poem but really moving!

Nice use of imagery to make an economic/political statement.

i tried to go back through history with the constitution, washington, the cherry tree, eve, and god; then, the money and treasury theme. i wanted it to be more of a morality statement, for any person or country.

Yes, I can see. I love getting the whole meaning from the poet.
