Hello. I have missed Litnet so much--I hope everyone is doing well. After a long break I am glad to be back. Here is a recent jot.
my bones are cold
and my skin is lonely.
sometimes teddy bears
and comfy pajamas
can't suppress the heartache.
tap
tap
tap
whatever you're selling
I can't find the strength
to mosey on over to the peephole
and watch you wonder
if I'm in the shower, if I'm in the kitchen,
if I'm in the basement
until you walk away
to the next door
and ask my neighbor,
"have you ever owned a vacuum cleaner as neat as this?"
i wander to the fridge
but I don't want anything to eat.
i wander to the computer
but I don't want anything to read.
the television screeches
but I can't turn it off
it mutes out the thoughts that
separate
us.
