“Do you realize,” I said
to the attractive woman
who was about to pass by my table,
“that you and I might have
five minutes of conversation
neither of us could have with anyone else?”
“Yes,” she paused: “It’s possible,
but it might take us a lifetime
to get to exactly those five minutes.
And then what?"

This stings like a paper cut. It is so tight and sharp, it must have exploded in your head.
One of the more genius of your snapshot style.

Indeed it did as you say explode. I was sitting outside the cafe, as I won't much longer be able to do, starved - freaking starved - for conversation. My sweetheart is currently on her semi-annual lecture tour in Poland then Israel, and that imagined conversation occurred to me, a concept - the 5 minutes with a "perfect" stranger - that I've held and still hold, not that it would lead to anything, but that it might justify my belief in the universality of our connection with each other, with each of our many, many others...
Thank you.

I think the last four lines punch forth truth, hit home.
And then what? Exactly! There is a connection, yes. I believe it. :)
