Can someone tell me which stylistic/rhetorical device this is:
- Are there giants in your 'modern' story?
- Yes, but only one.
- That's as bad as twenty. You should carry them back some 700 or 800 years out of harm's way, both of critics and other people!
Sounds like a kind of metafictional metaphor (?) but I've never heard of such a thing... please help!
