Hi, all!

I'm new here (which, of course, is why I'm posting this in the Introductions Forum). Sorry to be to obvious.

I'm in Albany, Oregon (born and bred for the first 30-someodd years of my life in Portland, Oregon). I'm 52. Yikes! -- having just taken the "How old will you be in 2009" survey. The "will be" is "I already am."

I'm a sometime writer and mosttime researcher (into the life and work of Maurine Dallas Watkins, b. 1896, d. 1969, American author of [among many other things] the original 1926 smash Broadway straight play CHICAGO that is the basis for the film ROXIE HART [1942] and the Broadway musical CHICAGO [1975]).

My personal favorite authors (besides Maurine Watkins) are: Thomas Pynchon, Fernando Arrabal & Cervantes (both authors in translation -- sad to say I don't read Spanish), Samuel R. Delaney, and a few others.

When not researching or writing, I am reading play scripts or physically involved in theatrical productions at our local theater. I director, as well as design sets, lights, sound, and props for quite a few of the productions there.

Other than that, I love remodelling and really need to get down to the basement and continue working on the room that will be the household craft center/office/music room.

Hope to hear from some of you.

Chatatcha later,

I'm embarrassed, but thanks!

Bahrain, huh? What's it like there? (He says, deflecting ... )

Nothing really special about it, just your average typical island... too hot for my liking, but it's my home until I plan to take my Masters degree in English Language (that's my major), I'm thinking maybe England or Britannia (was that spelling correct?) since I'm allured to cloudy weather ^_^" I've heard both countries have lots of great scenaries too.

Bahrain is... well... at least, it's safe here XD I think... =X

But it's humid and the heat continues for 9 months every year, we don't have what you could call Autumn or Spring--those are fairytales in Bahrain XD It's only Summer-like all year long, until Oct comes in and the weather gets a little bit cooler, thunderstorms are not that common when Winter hits us, but - believe it or not - I've never seen snow in my entire life (was born in Bahrain, if you didn't figure that out already) =3

That makes me all the more excited to see other places, I'm the adventure-loving type; staying in this sunny island for too long will bake my head inside out XD Any suggestions of other nice places I could take my Masters in? And what about you? Where do you live? How's it like in there?
