Thought I'd give this a go with just a few poems. There's no real theme among them, just a random collection.

I am disappointment
and bitterness
loneliness
solitude
I am discontent
apathy and anxiety
I am hatred and anger
I am wrath

incarnate

I am gay.

The Creed of Reliability

I will not rely on the competence of another.
To thrive is to succeed,
to succeed to not fail;
failure is a collaborative effort.
I may know myself, I cannot know others.
I will not rely on the competence of others.

I am unique
We are all unique.
I am not unique.

We are omnipotent.
I am not.
We is omnipotent.

I liked this one up until the last two lines. Somehow "I am gay" doesn't fit into the rest of the poem...

I do understand (I think). I have several gay friends and at some point in their lives, they felt this way. A disappointment to their parents and/or family, the "why me" thing before acceptance. It is a brave poem. I like it very much.
