Another free-form poem, inspired by nature and solitude... I'm thinking of perhaps taking off from where I left off and writing a bit of a verse story about a daydream; but for now, here's a little poem for you all.
The water sparkled
Like a thousand diamonds.
My feet,
Heavy under the cool water,
Felt their way across
The smooth stones.
The noise:
White.
It lulled me into a dream.
I dreamed of a summer field.
The cuckoos spoke softly,
Their words creeping
Slowly
Across the threshold of my ear.
...So warm...
The summer breeze
Carried me into the heavens
On the wings of my beloved birds,
Softly whispering their secrets...
