Nice! I lived there 5 years and never got to Luxor. Fall o9? you mean lke in a few months?
Given you screen name make sure they take you to see the Citadel and if you find some nice amiable egyptians see if they are willing to take you to the distrcict known as El alah Its round the foot of the citadel and quite intresting building wise, althouh theymay well refuse to take you there on acount of the fact that tecnhically it's kind of a slum? and not touristy.
Oh and Kornaish el Moattam. Its the most beautiful and best view of Cairo but a lot of people won't admit to knowing about it on account of the fact its a bit f a Lovers Lane type place, still if you can talk someone into taking you up there its well worth it.

oh Asr el nil, oh and you might like a tour of the mosques, el Hassan and el hussain are beautiful, obviously there is Al azhar, oh and Ahmed ibn Taloon is the oldest mosque in the city ( I think. I kind of got sun stroke on the school trip where they dragged us to all the mosques of historic importance as part of our Egypt during the time of the 'Islamic/Arab and Ottaman' Empire, so I ened up blurring alot of the facts)

I think that is everything I can think of, oh and be prepared or the stomach bug, I have yet to meet anyone who visited egypt from Europe or America and didnt get a stomach bug of some sort, stay away from the tap water don't eat any salads dont have ice in anything and dont get drinks from automatic dispscers as they use tap water fr all those and you should be grand! HAve fun!
