Hero's Quest

Through the misty forests, a ghostly tread,
apparition of mystic beauty appears,
illuminated white, painted under moon's brush,
enchantments quiver in the moonlit air,
childe of Artemis born from Earth's oldest legends,
from the veil she appears on spellbound nights.

A hero chasing dreams appeared this night,
with hunter's skill he moved in cat-like tread,
from his silence may he discover forgotten legends,
when before astonished eyes an ethereal movement appears,
and a sweet melody seemed to fill the air,
so he stood rigid as the wind stirred the brush.

With his greater destiny he brushed,
the fates have wove them together this night,
such a sweet scent hovered in the air,
upon their entwined threads their souls tread,
the shock began to waver of such an unexpected appearance,
so the hero breathed the breath of living legend.

There is yet truth in the stories of Bardic legend,
for with such unearthly beauty he had a brush,
just as startled was our sprite as our hero appeared,
for she came to seek the solitude of the night,
and nere before in forbidden forests has man tread,
now she felt static of an unknown feeling in the air.

There lingered arcane mystery in the air,
when living flesh and blood touches something of legend,
two souls across the borders of dream and reality tread,
as gentle as the touch of a mouth, his skin against hers brushed,
moved beyond worlds they stood alone tonight,
as two star-crossed lovers they appeared.

A dream as no other before him appeared,
both could feel the vibration in the air,
as they stood joined by dreams and fate neath the starlit night,
slowly there melts away lines between reality and legend,
his fingers against her chilled skin brushed,
and there he felt into his heart she tread.

Appearances can be deceiving, so begins to fade the legend,
the air quaking, perhaps the touch only dreams brush,
night vanishes into day, only in memories the spirits tread.
