DONG, DONG, DONG, Hells Bells toll. Hear Hells Bells ring, torture just feels so right. Loving what's inside of you doesn't exist, when you see what's inside you we slit your wrists. Anythings funner with scissors and knives, or playing with insects that sting and bite. When Hells Bells ring your time is up. When Hells Bells ring your clock has struck. Six. Six.. Six...

I kick a shriveled leaf in frustration at the immense grey clouds stampeding across the vast sky. After a long day of school this was the last thing I want to see. It is going to rain.

“Milton”, someone says breaking my state.

I stop, heart pounding, momentarily petrified. However, then I see the “iPod kid”, as everyone called him, from school.

“Hey how’s it goin’?” I say keeping my cool, as music blares from his phones, I don’t want to look scared.

iPod kid squeezes his second ear bud in between his fingers, “Just listenin’ to some AC/DC. It’s old music, but it’s pretty damn good.”

iPod kid offers me the ear bud, it’s previous status was being squeezed between iPod kid’s fingers. I lean forward, not wanting to be rude, take the ear bud and place it gingerly in my ear.

“Hells Bells.” iPod kid says nodding his head and smiling.

Hells Bells, Hells Bells, Hells Bells, Hells Bells, Hells Bells…

Hells Bells ring angrily in my ear, DONG. DONG. DONG.

The music blares in my ear “HELLS BEL-“. Suddenly, My head is cranked left by the thunder of Heaven. Remnants of the lightning disappear from my vision. Tranquility for a second and then we are overcome by the heavy batter of rain.

As iPod runs away he shouts over his shoulder “I’m goin’ home!” The lucky bastard lives a block from here. I still have 12 blocks to go. I begin to run. It becomes easier once I’ve started.

The blocks begin to fly by as I pick up speed. Despite huffing the exercise feels great. Without a warning my feet are useless and I skid long and hard on the wet payment.

As the rain pounds on my head, I reach for the gushing gash on my knee with a shaking bleeding hand. I was running and then I lost control of my legs, it was as if I had no traction ensuring I would collide hard with the wet ground.

I hear mumbling. I look around. It gets louder. I listen hard when suddenly I make out something. “Are you alright?” says a muted voice for the second time. I look up and to the right. Without much thought I stand and nurse myself into the house out of the rain.

The door closes with a slam that draws my attention away from my injuries.
“I saw you fall somethin’ terrible.” says the owner of the house, a forty-something strawberry blond woman with a noticeable southern drawl. “Let’s get you patched up right this minute.”

She pushes me into the kitchen. I look around, examining the room. A sugary plum strip decorates the wall, which the stove, a brownish cream, some cabinets, a light pink, and a sweet yellow towel attached to a hook. The kitchen was small with wooden flooring; the only other occupants are a small wall ornament of Jesus on the cross, a small table and matching chairs.

“Now before I get you all cleaned up, I think we need to learn a lesson, don’t we?” The woman said her thick lipstick cracking as she smiles from ear to ear. “Do you pray to our savior Jesus every day and every night?”

“Ple-“ I urge as my knee gushes blood.

“No,” the woman yells at me, revealing a dark cavern of a mouth. “You must answer the question first.” She says slowly lowering her voice. “Do you pray to the savior, our Holy Jesus Christ.” Each word is a bite.

“No I don’t.” I say, as I want to smash this woman’s face. She emanates hate, it pours off her like toxic radiation.

“Don’t you know what happens to people who don’t pray to our Lord ?” She asks eyes flashing angrily.

“They go to hell.” I say in disbelief, I just want relief for my wounds.

“Right” the woman admits, paused in her previous position, full of air and ready to retort. She empties herself of air like a balloon; I am amazed at how much air she contains. The seconds pass as she still releases air. She looks me straight in the eyes, her bold glare unwavering. Finally her chest deepens as she breathes in again.

I go to stand as to leave but she pushes me down as soon as I move.

“Nonsense”, she says through barred teeth, “you’ll stay till you’re fully recovered.” She fixes me a drink of water. I begin to breathe normally again; hopefully her earlier outburst was not to repeat itself.

I look down as the glass thuds onto the wooden table. The glass is clean and full to the brim with water. With a flash, the glass contains a dark thick suspension crawling with worms and a rotting rat. I tip my chair over, screaming, falling onto my back.

“My Lord, what are you doing?” The woman squeals, getting louder as she runs over to me.

I sit up, shaking. “The g-glass-ss” I manage.

The woman stops. She looks at him and then looks at the glass.

“Hallucinations?” She begins slowly, “Either caused by drug use or dabbling in dark arts.” She begins to slowly fill with air as she sucks in an enormous breath.

“Either way”, she says rising to a bass crescendo, “you’ll burn in hELL WITH ME”

HELLS BELLS, HELLS BELLS

Her eyes pop from her head and bounce sharply off the wooden floor, they’re glass.

HELLS BELLS, HELLS BELLS

I scoot backwards, legs kicking against the floor.

HELLS BELLS, HELLS BELLS

The woman’s clothes slide off as her back extends sharply, significantly lengthening her. She lets loose a roar; her hair falls off due to steadily protruding horns from her head.

HELLS BELLS, HELLS BELLS

“YOU WILL BURN” It screams at me as muscles bound to its formerly anorexic body, “I WILL **** YOUR *** FOR A THOUSAND CENTURIES”

Fire envelopes the room. I jump forward as flames close in on me.

“NOTHING WILL BE SO FATAL AS THIS DAY” Satan roars, hot monsoons like spit from his mouth, “YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE DABBLED IN DARKNESS FOR I WILL CONSUME YOU”

Satan rushes at me, a chain of fire swinging above his head like a halo of flame. He swings and connects, my flesh sizzling upon contact. He throttles my neck cutting off circulation to my head.

“SLOWLY ENDING YOUR LIFE WILL BE MY PLEASURE.” says Satan following with a deep guttural laugh.

I black out.

When I wake, I'm lying on the bed of the same house, my anus is pulsing painfully. “GOOD MORNING, SUNSHINE. HOW IS YOUR ******* THIS MORNING?” Satan explodes into laughter, his boorish feet kicking heavily. “YOU HAVE THIS TO LOOK FORWARD TO FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY.”

It is very different from anything I have ever read, then again I have been slaking in the books department at this point in my life, but it is a really well written short story and I'm looking forward to more.

By the way check out my short story it is my first completed first chapter ever. If you have any ideas feel free to tell me.
