Techno Morph........ (by ~Sophia~)

We’re not used to living in a skybox.

My peculiar little dog (who’s recently begun
impersonating a glass-eyed bearskin rug)

is programmed to skip over tracks three,
seven and nine - no one listens to
an entire serialized CD anyway.

The blackberry buzzes. It’s Gabriel laughing
“but it’s a dry heat” as if that’s a good thing.

One of my chapped eyes blinks repeatedly, the other
swells with pebbles - no it’s more of a dry heave I think...

a dreary sacramental toast - everybody limbo!
obviously, God had a sec sense of humor when he
dragged his scorching tongue across this inflamed
land. Maybe it’s

a Pilate study to see how long I can lip-sync
a lollipop hymn out the side of my mouth
before crossing over Hoover’s Dam
- damn

(sticky to self: Get lip gloss, lipstick, lip balm)
Well, I’ve gotta run now, thanks for calling.

Hello, Sophia, nice to meet you :D

I really enjoyed this, the strange rhythm that you have. You've kind of rapped it out, yet it still has a flowing feel. Very interesting.

I love the idea of "lip-syncing a lollipop hymn"...it's just a very beautiful sounding thing!

Thank you for sharing :D

I love the free association within the poem. It makes me think of a baby's point-of-view; observing everything, the slight details. It has a sort of non-linear structure to it, where things are left open-ended, then reappear by the end of the poem.

Thanks Daniel! I wrote it in the way an average day goes, filled with distractions (especially by cell phones, text messages, pins, etc).
