can still remember. Whenever I let my mind drift, I can hear the screams, smell the vigorous stench of death that clung to the rotten bodies that stared emptily at the sky. When I close my eyes, I can see everything, every little detail has demanded its place, forever, in my mind. Burned itself onto my soul, refusing to let go. The smell, the sight, the complete horror and panic that traveled through the screams. Oh, the screams. I remember climbing over an neverending sea of dead bodies. Their faces no longer looked human. The only thing I saw as I watched those unrecognizable faces that once were human, was pure terror, embedded into the eyes. I remember looking down into their eyes, envying their fate, for I knew mine would be so much worse. Blood lay thickly in the air, mending with the stench of terror and death, creating a vile mix of what could only be explained as evil. Huge claw marks embedded some faces, while others were filled with so much blood, I could not even see the wounds anymore. Climbing over those bodies, some of whom I had known while they lives, I couldn't think clearly. My mind was filled with only one thing: The desperate need to escape, before their attention turned on me. Some were still kneeling over corpses, feasting vigorously, dipping their huge claws into the deep wounds, ripping out intestines and tendrils, launching them into their mouts. I could hear bones crack under those fearsome fangs, as they ripped their prey apart, consuming all that was once human, leaving only a pool of dark blood. And their eyes. They never ate the eyes. Maybe they found joy in watching that horrified expression of what the men saw before they were ripped apart. Terror leaped up into my throat, creating a lump of pure horror, making me fight desperetaly to draw breath. My heart thumped with such force, Surely it would burst out of my chest at any moment. Totally frozen, I could only watch as my friends were eaten alive, hear their screams embedd themselves in my ears. Unable to move, I only watched, waiting for the inevitable moment when the would turn, waiting for that gruesome smile to spread over their lips as their eyes took me in, took in the delight full flesh that covered my bones.

The very sound of crunching bones turned my stomach. I stood mere feet from one of the abominations, seeming oblivious of me as he feasted on his price. Lifting a dead body, he ripped it in half, and I heard the bone snap with a sickening crack as the monster lifted the dead mans upper body into the air, then launched it down into its throat, crushing the bones under its fearsome fangs. Suddenly, it jerked upwards, sniffing the air, and then, my worst nightmare became reality, and it turned, its gruesome smile more horrifying than anything I could ever imagine. Blood drippled from its fangs, droplets of dark red blood splashing onto the ground. It threw away the useless legs that was once attached onto a body, and leaped through the air, aiming for its new price.
