This is the first time I've ever shown my work to strangers. I started writing a year ago. I'll throw one up occasionally for you all, in no real order.

How I Tortured an Innocent Tree for Years
Or, Disrespecting Nature: A Guide

I free him and as the winds claw apart his jaw
He bounds for her, for yet another christening.
How lucky: the roots must now be reeking
And cry upon the lift of that pillowed paw.
Joyfully the valve comes loose and I
Turn away, ashamed as though the relief is mine
And her bark can stare and speak out:
“All of this is your fault”, but also on occasion
When by chance I’ve glanced and been seen in turn
I hear a futile groan and wonder:
“Was that him or her?”

Strange poem, somewhat difficult to decipher, but written with great conviction.
