As I lay down beside him,
All I feel is pain.
The pain that he has caused
Made me to bleed deep within.

How can I say he’s mine
If I can’t feel his love
How can I say I’m his,
If my heart belongs to someone else.

But before him, there was you…
I’ve made a promised
And a promise that’s so true
That I will forever love & treasure… only you.

You came into my life…
You were a gift from above,
Every moment spent with you
Is like heaven, simple yet so true…

We may be distance apart
But not light years away,
We always have the chance
To be together, somehow…in some way…

I’ll say I’m yours
And I hope that you are mine,
For u are my best friend, my soul mate,
Soul mate am I…

It's a strange stuation, a complex one - and one that I don't imagine is a happy one.

This is a sad poem, although it articulates some clear feelings.

This is about the love that has been there between two gud old friends but due to some circumstances they have to part. Along the way, someone came along trying to feel the emptiness of her soul and she openly accepted it... But the end, she feels she doesn't belong to him and her heart still belongs to the gud old friend... :)

This poem is matchless. I like its universality of love. Love is like a flowing river.

I like how there seems to be a strong connection that continues through a life despite the change in surroundings--a love stronger, more beautiful, and rarer than some relatively generic, bland universal love.

it's very sad but with some beauty and hope to it. easy to relate to. well written I liked how it was in a way split in two but still came so well together

I can’t believe how time flies so fast
Just like the wind
Passing through us
And leaving beautiful memories in the sand.

Reminiscing how time has put us together
Now time is setting us apart.
As I look through the streams of memories we’ve shared
It’s hard for me to say goodbye ‘cuz it hurts.

We know that time will heal the pain
But alas, it’ll be awhile before we see each other again
The loneliness and longings will be carved in our hearts
But our happy memories of joys & laughter will heal the pain of the distance.

A tear or two may drop from thy eyes and so from mine
But our love & faith for each other
Will strengthen our bond of trust for one another
So let not distance be the factor of forgetfulness
For not a day I will forget you.

As I do pray from up Above to grant you safe
Wherever you go and whatever you do
For I’ll be here waiting till you’re back
Till the day we say “I do”.
