In honor of Star Wars Episode III, I have decided to make two polls. One is favorite Jedi and the other is favorite Sith. If you like one that isn't on put it in the not here category and tell me who they are.
oops I forgot to put on the poll sorry

General Grievous isn't really a sith, or is he?
On a techniqual (spelling?) note Greivous is a droid but I consider him to be Sith cuz he knows all of the lightsaber stuff.

Darth Siddious for me! I have always loved him!! Darth Maul was never that great, I think, and he was just a part of one Episode.

Darth Vader, all the way, he's the one that spawned the whole thing.
I liked Darth Maul, visually he was great, Ray Park did an amazing job, but the fact that he got killed in 5 minutes and had only one crappy line in the entire movie hurts any chance of him getting recognition. Grievous suffers something similar to this, since most people didn't get to see the Clone Wars cartoons, and Dooku didn't get that much screen time neither.
Darth Sidious is the only real contender here, but even so, I don't see him beating the helmet. ;)
Has anyone read any of the novels/played one of the games? There's a lot of interesting SW stuff there.

Ok, question for all those who voted for Darth Vader in the poll.
Have you seen the latest Star Wars film yet?
Before I saw it there would have been no contest Vader all the way. However, Siddious is so brilliantly evil in the latest film that he just edges it imho.
Also for Koa, a sith is a someone who is corrupted by the dark side of the force.

after seeing the last movie Darth seemed to lose some of his "luster", don't get me wrong I still think he's a bad *** and I voted for him, but he just doesn't seem as frighteneing anymore
Also for Koa, a sith is a someone who is corrupted by the dark side of the force.
obviously...how come i didnt realise that myself? ;) :D
Is this Star Trek or what? Or Star Wars maybe...I've never been able to make the difference between the 2 of them.
And stop laughing at me, nerds ;)

I voted for Vader, namely because of what he does before he puts the mask on.
As far as the rest go, Darth Maul was merely an apprentice taught from a young age to do Darth Sidious' bidding and wasn't taught much other than how to kill, Darth Tyrannus (Dooku) was taught most of the ways of the sith under Sidious but had to kill Anakin to learn everything Sidious knew, unfortunately for Dooku he was unaware of Sidious' aspirations if I remember right. Grievous was just preserved from death by Dooku and turned into a machine, taught how to wield a lightsaber and let loose since he was already a great warrior. He has no real Force powers and is basically just a lawnmower with sabers. I would've voted for Sidious, but I never have much liked politicians, heh.

Koa
This is STAR WARS, a fantacy, it happened a long time ago and has nothing to do with Earth or us in any way, ....in a galaxy far,far away....
STAR TREK is a science fiction about our future as the human race. Most things that happen in ST are a possibility according to scientists.
The Force is a 'power' that a few people have and can develop. A Jedi is one who acts accordingly to the 'good' side of the force, a Sith is one who is tempted by the dark side.

Right...so I AM a Sith :)
Thanks for the explanation but by the time I've finished to read it I forgot again which one is which... I'm hopeless! I'll leave you to your discussion but as favourite Sith I vote for myself.
Oh and Spaceball was a parody of which one? Star Wars, right? That one I know well :D
And Dr. Spock? That was Star Trek wasn't it? Am I improving? :)
Helga

Dr.Spock was a children psychologist, but Mr. Spock was a Star Trek character, I named my dog after.
watch a few movies of both and then come back to vote...... ;)

I have the real answer...one that is tempted and joins the dark side is a dark jedi, but the "sith lords" are the children or of that sort to the dark jedi that conquered the sith long before the first movie.(Luke went to the dark side but he wasn't sith) *fanboy radar explodes* I'm right and you'll know it to by pm' ing me about this(I'm not sure if Chris will take off te address or not)

I kind of think the first three choices on this poll are rather boring characters. :-/
Bongitybongbong
06-16-2005, 01:39 PM
Well that's George Lucas' fault.
Jack_Aubrey
06-16-2005, 01:43 PM
Yeah it is. And can Grievous really be considered a Sith? Wasn't being able to wield a lightsaber or four really the extent of his "jedi" powers? Obi-Wan sort of kicked his *** in a duel.
Bongitybongbong
06-16-2005, 01:46 PM
He's somewhat a Sith...sort of a cross thing but there aren't that many Sith in the movies so I had to improvise.
Jack_Aubrey
06-16-2005, 01:52 PM
Yeah that's what I thought. I don't blame you. You could have used Darth Plagas. But he's not even an actual character, so I guess you couldn't have.
Bongitybongbong
06-16-2005, 01:56 PM
exactly, I could have put 100's down but they aren't in the movies and it would be hard for non-hardcore fans

06-16-2005, 02:26 PM
I forgot that Luke goes all dark-side after VI.
Bongitybongbong
06-16-2005, 02:45 PM
like that and Darth Scarz and Darth Bane and other (but Luke goes back to the light)
Jack_Aubrey
06-16-2005, 03:37 PM
Luke is kind of Emo.
Bongitybongbong
06-16-2005, 05:11 PM
.....Wow...I mean....wow that's a statement.
Jack_Aubrey
06-16-2005, 05:55 PM
That obvious huh?
Bongitybongbong
06-16-2005, 07:46 PM
Yeah it's pretty obvious.
Jack_Aubrey
06-16-2005, 07:52 PM
How does Luke go dark and then come back, again?
Bongitybongbong
06-16-2005, 07:57 PM
In a book that takes place after the Original Trilogy, Luke feels that he's one man against the galaxy because of all the evil he has to clean up. (only Jedi left until he restores the Jedi Order and he did it mostly on his own.) Eventually, he comes back for reasons that I have forgotten.
Jack_Aubrey
06-16-2005, 09:40 PM
What a boring reason to go dark.
Bongitybongbong
06-17-2005, 09:15 AM
Yeah, but in the same situation, wouldn't you do it to?
Jack_Aubrey
06-17-2005, 09:23 AM
I don't know. I like to imagine that if I had been a Jedi I would have been obedient to the ways of the good side of the force.
Bongitybongbong
06-17-2005, 09:29 AM
Yeah well I know I'd be a horrible Jedi right now.
Jack_Aubrey
06-17-2005, 09:30 AM
The dark side is the easy way out, Kyle, I know there's still good in you. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
Bongitybongbong
06-17-2005, 09:33 AM
I'm just saying right now I'd be a bad Jed. With training I would probably be a decent Jedi.
Jack_Aubrey
06-17-2005, 09:52 AM
I thought you meant bad in the sense of a "bad guy."
Bongitybongbong
06-17-2005, 09:55 AM
more I'd be tempted much easier to go to the dark side
Jack_Aubrey
06-17-2005, 10:05 AM
Yeah that's the dilemna.
Bongitybongbong
06-17-2005, 10:30 AM
it miight be but i don't mind...learn both sides of the force and take out everyone unless I like them or something
Jack_Aubrey
06-18-2005, 01:43 AM
That's evil, man.
Bongitybongbong
06-18-2005, 10:02 AM
You really think it's that bad??? I prefer not to be on a side because I'll be in a war that takes too long to end.
I used to really be into Star Wars, so I'll give my vote to a little known guy called Naga Sadow. He led the first grand Sith invasion of the galaxy and almost (as it always is in Star Wars) crushed the Jedi in the Great Hyperspace War. God...I feel really geeky just saying all of that.

Yes he most certainly was. Anakin is the best Sith ever. And if you don't like Hayden Christensens acting, just keep in mind, the dialogue had to be part of it. I have seen him in other films and he's not wooden in all of them. But yes, Anakin got me re-interested in Star Wars again. I hadn't watched it since I was little when I thought Darth Vader was Dark Vader.
