Hi! I found this forum by simply searching the term "short fiction". Some friends and I are starting a writing site (so far it's mostly fiction) at www.thegrandconspiracy.org (http://www.thegrandconspiracy.org/blog/). That requires me to sit at the computer and write for a few hours a week no matter what. I'm hoping to add this forum to the list of sites that help me procrastinate. It looks like a good way to kill some time when I'm supposed to be working.

As far as reading goes, I read everything. This includes a lot of bad science fiction. I don't mind the bad stuff though, since it makes finding the good stuff that much better. I'm also currently obsessing over finishing everything written by James Morrow and by Christopher Moore.

I'm an accountant who writes and I am considering becoming a writer who accounts. I live in St. Louis. I play guitar. I usually lurk on forums until I absolutely HAVE to share my opinion. I enjoy long walks on the beach (even though there is no beach...), egg foo yung, and bourbon. Finally, I believe that we need to be prepared for the inevitable zombocalypse.

It could happen.

The zombocalypse is inevitable? Oh, my...

I found this site by accident myself and have used it as a diversion from my work, and have found some interesting threads and some talented and knowledgable people.

I'm a newbie myself, but if I may...let me welcome you, Christophercyr!

This is a great place to engage with all sorts of people. I found it by chance too and find it can be quite addicting.

Have fun!

Thanks! I can see how it would be addicting.

I find I favor particular threads over others and then run into the same people. I like the writing threads and blogs. Occasionally, I go on the religion and philosophy ones. I also like the book clubs, but mind kind of died off. Oh well!

See you around and good luck!
