Wow, Scheherazade - and you used to be so dainty looking. I guess you've been putting in lots of hours at the gym.

That was a mask I was wearing... People don't want to listen to a green giant named Scheherazade!

Why are people so uninterested to vote this time?

I will always vote, as I feel the writers need someone to read what they have taken the time to write. I know how hard it is to come up with just the right words. But I have submitted my last story to this contest...
If I caused problems last time, I apologize. But my reading of the rules would seem to prove me correct in what I did...
Sorry

Does anyone else find it weird that all the stories end with: "You talkin' to me?"

You know a competion like that would be interesting: All stories should end with a certain given line; the rest is up to the writer.
Thank you very much for your votes but we still have a tie.
Please keep voting!

The poetry section has a lot of interesting contest, like poems ending with the same line, and it might be fun applying those kinds of contraints to short stories.
Thank you very much for your votes but we still have a tie.
Please keep voting!
I believe it was my vote that created the tie.

Maybe you can check the newspapers in your area, and see if there's some kind of an auction going today. Then go to the auction, sit back, and watch the proceedings. When you hear the auctioneer say going once - going twice - going three times - sold to the lady in red!!!, then you'll have a true understanding of what that means. Just make sure you're not the lady in red, unless you have enough money to cover your bid.

How about this? I send a foolish scapegoat to the auction. He makes the highest bid, gives me the item and doesn't pay. As a result, he ends up in jail and I with the item.
