Ya'll are great. Niamh - Love the Dracula Snoopy! Janine - I'm digging the space cake, not to mention chocolate, one can never have enough of that. B - you're such a sweetie, your like a stealth birthday wisher, I never see you on. Thanks Virgie I very much like the steel drum and it reminds me of one of my favorites, you might like it (I may have seen it here first I can't remember): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us-TVg40ExM. Kasie, Andave, Lynne, Kilted, PnB, jersea, Helga, Themis, Tournesol, and Nightie thanks for the birthday wishes.

papayahed, Glad you liked the 'space cake'. Yeah, I never argue with chocolate either. Wow, that video was so cool; thanks for posting it. I loved it all; proves music is the same all around the world...can lift us up together...I love that song! The washboard was great. My favorite singer was the old guy with the white beard in the overalls....amazing.

Virgil, I liked that steel drum, too. I saw them playing those in the Bahamas..brings back memories.

An interview with Papayahed:

(Papayahed '08 (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36936))

Why are we doing this interview thing?
I dunno.

Are you sure you want to do this?
No.

Are you male or female?
Female

What is your name (if you don't mind sharing it with us)?
Danielle

Got milk?
Yep, just bought some milk and cereal

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?
Not I

If you had a personal theme song what would it be?
Brickhouse. Haha, I don’t know – I’ll probably think of a good one after I send this in.

What makes you keep coming back to the Forum?
Habit

It has been a year since the last interview. What have been the high and low points?
Low – Yearly shutdown at work (ya’ll heard me whining)
High – My vacation

The best and worst books you have read during last year?
I checked my excel sheet and the two best had a rating of 9.25/10, which were The New York Trilogy and Notes from underground. The Worst at 7/10 was Persuasion and More Tales of the City

The biggest surprises of the past year (both pleasant and unpleasant)?
Meeting up with a friend I never thought I’d see again.

What has been the the biggest change in your life since your last birthday?
Going back to school. (Whooo School starts in a few weeks!!!)

Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism?
No. I live in the bible belt and it bugs me that people try to push me towards their religion. I don’t care what they believe (except the guy that told me non-christians don’t have souls) why should anybody care what I believe? And I don’t even think it’s about religion it’s more about the appearance – around here different scares people.

Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?
A Dog but with the caveat that I’m with a good family.

How did you meet your significant other?
I’m not seeing anyone right now but I met one SO at a bar when he asked me to feel his thighs.

What is the one thing you must do before you die?
See Antarctica

What is your role in an emergency situation: the 911 dialer, the person who runs to the scene to help, the video recorder, or the person too overcome by shock to do anything?
The person who runs to the scene to help, We’ve had some emergency training at work and the last time a truck driver fell out they called me to deal with it even though we’ve all had the same training.

What song is in your head at the moment?
One Love by Bob Marley

Which book are you reading at the moment?
Dead Souls – Nikolai Gogol

The last book you finished reading?
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson

What are you wearing at the moment?
My Detroit Pistons Bad Boys T Shirt, blue shorts and white tube socks

Favorite TV shows?
Eureka, Ghost Hunter, Big Bang Theory, and the Daily Show. It used to be more before I gave up the cable

Which LitNet members would you like to meet in person if you could?
All of them

Favorite post on the Forum?
Oh gosh, there are so many good ones. I still laugh at Timmy’s story about boiling the water and the pot cracking.

Favorite thread?
Song Title game

Last food did you have?
Cereal (Remember I just bought the milk)

Last words you said out loud?
“Oh that’s nice” in reference to a news story about a political figure singing Happy Birthday to an 89 year old reporter

Last person you hugged/kissed?
My friend Tim

What question would you like to ask yourself?
How the hell did I end up here?

What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?
Getting ready to go out for cocktails

Last dream you remember having?
Just last night, I meant to put it in the dream thread but here goes: I was in my childhood home and my mom and I were packing for a trip to France. For some reason my childhood home was on a military base sort of, I could look out the window and there was a small lake with all these submarines in it. Then it was morning (in my dream) and I asked why no one was packed and somebody, not mom, said that were weren’t going to France anymore.

Who is your best friend and how long you have known them?
I’ve known my best friend for 24 years (Holy Crap!), we met as freshmen in High School. I have one friend I’ve known since first grade.

If you had to lose one of your senses, which would you choose and why?
Taste, that way I could eat brussel sprouts

Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?
More Happy then not

How often do you tell lies?
What do you mean by “lies”?

What gives your life meaning?
There’s a meaning?

What type of Faerie would you like to be and why?
The fast kind.

If you were a colour, what colour would you be and why?
Orange because I like it.

What makes you laugh?
My friends

What was the happiest period of your life and why?
I dunno, they all have good reasons to be the happiest, except for high school of course, don’t get me wrong it was fun but boy was there turmoil.

Do those animated smilies ever get tired?
Think of them day after day, dancing or crashing computers or laughing or crying till the end of time...

No, they only get sad when we don’t use them!!

One thing you would like to do before your next birthday?
Spend a week on a warm white sandy beach

Did you answer all of the question?
So far

One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?
Don’t forget your umbrella.

What would you like to ask to the person to be interviewed after you?
Wanna Coke?

I was thinking the same thing - fell out of what? referring to, of course, the truck driver. If he fell out of his truck, does this happen often?

Good interview, Papayahed! Nice to know your real name, which is a cool one. I liked your dream. I have dreams like that; of course, I've never been to France. I am always dreaming about packing in a hurry though, or the plane leaving without me - wonder what that means? I would also love to see Antarctica...such an amazing place; better hurry before the ice-bergs melt. "Song Title Game"...hummm...I like that one, too! I also agree with you on the religious thing. I wonder why it becomes anyone else's business, but my own. I love cerel also; makes a great snack.

Great interview Papaya. :) I remember you going back to school, but I forgot what you were taling up?

As to this:

How did you meet your significant other?
I’m not seeing anyone right now but I met one SO at a bar when he asked me to feel his thighs.
 I wonder how the conversation gravitated to that? ;)

I think you're right! I have a love hate relationship with my socks. They remind me of old men but darn it they are the only things that keep my feet dry inside my boots.

Thanks Qim and Kiz!

Hey! An Anarctica trip sounds delightful. Last year I did some research on cruises. One that i would love to do but it was just so expensive and long was, and I don't remember exact details, but it started in Argentina maybe, went around the cape with a side trip to Anarctica, and wound up in Rio just in time for Carnival. It was 3+ weeks long. I couldn't imagine being on a boat that long and not going crazy.

I think that they keep you eating the whole time so that you don't have time to go crazy, lol. (just thinking about a cruise my aunt and uncle took to Alaska -- loved it but gained about thirty pounds betwixt the two...!)
