never meant to belong, my hands float through the abyss
eternally dim, i can see their faces perched upon the water
like opal rocks in stagnant ponds of mirrors
each obstacle has set me free
but each notch in my spine, each crease in my eye
shackles me here
obsidian shift and white lily lips, frozen in beads from the sweet morning mist
i lay upon this mountain in gauze and thread
oozing with memories and dripping in hope that each pebble
will bring me higher
and higher
so that i can sleep with the sun

Sometimes your titles alone are like entire poems and in this case and so many others, the entire magnificent poem seems to have come out as one uninterrupted breath. Even the freaking line-breaks sing!

this one gets better each time i read it, paperleaves. so far i have come back to it twice and each time i am so pleasantly surprised to discover new meaning in the intricate words you have written.

Your work is truly inspirational. and i am sure this statement is true for more people than just me.

well done
