Chapter 1: The Journey Begins!

In a small village on the planet Rokiano, Jasiano and his friends, Kiaso and Elisha, are walking around town. Jasiano looks at them. “What do you guys want to do today?” They both look at each other and smile. Elisha looks at Jasiano. “Let’s go to the pet store. I hear they have some baby Hippogriffs for sale. My mom said we could have one if they had any.” Jasiano nods. “Alright.” They walk down the main street. The street is crowded with vendors and other people. They make their way through the crowd and to the pet store. They walk in. A kind old lady greets them. “Hi. May I help you?” Elisha nods. “Yes, do you still have baby Hippogriffs for sale?” The old lady nods. “Yep, we have just one left, a cute little female.” They walk over to a pen that houses a young Hippogriff. “Awe…she’s so adorable. How much is she?” The lady looks at them. “1,000 Dolankos.” Elisha pulls out two silver Dolankos and hands them to the lady. The lady picks up the Hippogriff and hands her to Elisha. “I’m gonna call you… Elika, after our grandmother.” She turns to the lady. “Thank you so much. I promise to take good care of her.” They walk out. They head to Elisha and Kiaso’s house. Elisha walks in. Standing in the kitchen is a woman in her mid-forties. “Mom, look what I’ve got.” Her mother turns around. “Awe…she’s so adorable. What did you name her?” “Elika, after grandma.” Her mother starts to cry. “She would’ve been proud of you.” Elisha sets Elika down and walks outside. She looks at Kiaso. “I didn’t know mom would start to cry.” Jasiano looks at the sky and notices a bird shape in the sky coming towards them. “Hey guys, look.” Kiaso and Elisha both look up. The bird shape turned out to be a Phoenix. It lands in front of them with a message tied to its right leg. Jasiano reaches over and grabs the letter. He begins to read it. “Dear citizen, it seems that I, King Fëanáro Amandil, have found out that a sinister evil is threatening our world. We need some brave warriors to help combat this evil. If you think you a worthy enough, come to my castle as soon as possible. Sincerely, King Fëanáro Amandil.” The Phoenix flies off. Jasiano’s eyes widen. Elisha and Kiaso look at each other nervously. Kiaso speaks. “He’s got that ‘Let’s go’ look in his eyes.” Elisha sighs. “Well, we won’t be able to stop him.” They start walking towards the sun to the castle. As they head into the sun, they hear a screeching sound. They turn around and see Elika following them. Elisha tries to shoo Elika away but Elika walks up to her and rubs her leg. “Elika, go home.” Elika backs away and starts to cry. Elika flies home. On the way to the castle, they pass a small village much like their own. They are greeted by a young elf woman. “Welcome to Goldwood Hollow. My name’s Nessa Elanessë. Follow me to the info booth.” They follow her through the crowded street. “Our town is always busy. But since the evil has come, we don’t get many visitors like you.” They reach a tent with strange markings on it. She turns to them. “Well, here we are. Hope you have a nice day.” She walks from the group. Kiaso blushes. Elisha smacks him. “What would mom say?” They get the info about the best place to get weapons. They walk to the armory. They walk in, bell ringing to announce the customers. A human in his late-fifties walks up to them. He has on a strangely designed shirt. “May I help you?” Jasiano nods. “Do you carry lightweight bows and arrows?” The owner nods. “We sure do.” He walks over to the bow and arrow section. He grabs a blue bow and matching arrows. He hands them to Jasiano. “This is what we’ve got. It costs 500 Dolankos.” Jasiano hands him a silver Dolanko. “Thank you.” The owner looks at Kiaso and Elisha. “Now, what would you guys like?” Kiaso looks at him. “Do you have any lightweight swords?” The owner nods. He goes behind the counter and pulls out a dragon handled sword. “This piece is also 500 Dolankos.” Kiaso hands him a silver Dolanko. Elisha looks at him. “Do you have any staffs?” He goes past the bow and arrow section and grabs a wooden staff. He hands it to Elisha. “This costs 250 Dolankos.” She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small silver Dolanko and a bronze Dolanko. “Here you go.” They walk out. The owner stands in the doorway. “Thank you, come again.” They walk around town. They stop at an inn called Small Goblet Inn. They walk up to the counter. Jasiano looks at the innkeeper. “Excuse me, but where is the best place to get food around here?” The innkeeper, an old elvish male, looks at Jasiano. “The best place to get food is the Golden Dragon across the way.” Jasiano nods. “Thank you.” They exit the Small Goblet Inn and go to the Golden Dragon. They walk into the café. The owner, Finrod Séregon, looks at them. “May I help you?” Elisha looks at him. “Do you have any steak?” Finrod nods. “Yes we do. How many?” Kiaso looks at him. “Three. All medium-rare.” Jasiano, Kiaso and Elisha sit down. Seven minutes later, Finrod comes out with three steaks. He sits them in front of them. “Enjoy.” He walks back to the kitchen.

We say that short stores can be miserable, but at the same time semi-comical. We can read word-to-word, but we can perhaps make a difference out of what we are doing with reading. Use philosophical logic to figure out this one.
