I just read 'The story of the shipwrecked sailor' and enjoyed it very much. how slowly the time past while he was on the ocean. it was interesting how the names of the chapter told you exactly what was gonna happen, like 'I saw 4 of my friends drown' . the loneliness of the book is similar to Garcia Marquez style and I did like seeing a part of him in it even though it was a true story and written in the first person as if the sailor himself was writing. I always love it when full names are used and every time somebody is mentioned he says his full name. the seagull thing was very disgusting and interesting, and the second seagull showed I think the insanity, fear and loneliness he was feeling.
I loved the title of the book: The Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor: Who Drifted on a Life Raft for Ten Days Without Food or Water, Was Proclaimed a National Hero, Kissed by Beauty Queens, Made Rich Through Publicity, and Then Spurned by the Government and Forgotten for All Time.
I really enjoyed it, how about you?
