now I love animals, I have 2 dogs now, Spock who is almost 8 years old and Sisco who is just a year old pup, the best brothers, along with my son. in the past I have had 5 parrots and two rats, I would probably have a dozen other animals if my boyfriend would let me... and if I had a bigger apartment.

but what I was wondering was if there weren't a few animal lovers here and what kind of animals you have or would have if you could. I would have a pig and a cow if I could they are my favourite animals other than dogs...

I don't know if this has been done before but I wanted to do it anyway

I'm an animal person too, Helga! I have three cats, two horses, and a fish, though I 'm lucky to have lots of other animal contact. I get to spend time with my brother's puppy, the other 40-something horses at the barn where my two are, as well as the dogs, cats, and ducks at the barn.

Once I'm no longer living with my parents, I'll get my own dogs and sometime down the road when I have a place for them, I want ducks and goats of my own. :D

annimal person three!!!
Ii have three male cats; Lyon whose all grey except for the white spot on his belly, Oreo whose black and white, more black than white. he's also the oldest. And Felixwho is Lyon's brother, but her black and white, more white than black.
I also have six puppies, five is mixed with chihuahua, and the other one looks like she's mixed with german shepard...she's really pretty and is very playful. her coat is golden brown, and a raccoon mask around her eyes.

My bandmates house features 2 ferrets, 2 dogs german shepherd and dalmatian, 2 (month old) kittens and a squirrel. Since it's where I spend the majority of my time, I like to think that they are all mine, and I'm pretty close with all of them (especially the German Shepherd). Until I get my own place no pets, but one day I want to have horses, dogs, cats, and all of it. I love animals.

I don't have any pets right now. But I love cats. Whenever I go to someone's house who owns a cat, I spend more time with the cat than with the people! ;)

I don't really want to have a cat of my own, though, because I have a fairly small apartment, and I move frequently.

I would like to have a cat if I lived somewhere rural and the cat could go outside. Or if I just had a really big house.

Wow, that sounds like quite a farm you have, CC! Impressive! :eek2:

As to me, in my downtown metropolitan apartment, I cannot have many pets, but I would if I could, space permitting. I have two male cats, Gustave and Quincy (I like the more unique names), both brothers from the same litter of kittens almost three years ago. Though not all litter-siblings look alike, they looked almost identical when I first got them at age eight weeks, and kept mixing them; they still look very similar, and people have trouble telling them apart, but Quincy has a bit more girth than Gustave, and Gustave has more stripe-like patterns in his fur - personality-wise, however, they seem polar opposites. Gustave - extraverted, playful, talkative, greet-you-at-the-door type; Quincy - introverted, quiet, self-maintained, window-cat type; both seem equally affectionate to me, nonetheless.
I have a picture of them together in my profile album, but I have more . . .

As much as I love dogs, and all animals, for that matter, Gustave and Quincy encountered their first dog a few months ago, and I think they had a few disagreements as to the interspecies mannerisms and etiquette of an apartment hallway. My neighbor's dog, a young boxer, seemed a bit more enthusiastic of encountering the cats than the two felines, particularly with its snout; Quincy ran off, but Gustave exchanged a few expletive hisses before also retreating home. Unfortunately, as in cases like these, I do not think taking a dog into the home would go well without loose fur appearing spontaneously throughout the apartment, but, even as a cat-person, I like dogs anyway.

it's great to see all these animal friends, and those fury little friends are so cute.

I have the same problem as mono does, my dogs do NOT like cats. Spock hates them after a mean cat waited outside my house when he was a puppy and almost scratched his eye. I love cats but this one was mean, he did this to many dogs in our neighbourhood. Sisco wants to play with them but they rarely agree for some reason... I have pictures of them in my album, Spock is white and black and sisco is brown.

Mono, your cats are adorable! Virgil, LJ, Becca, I want to take your dogs home!! Oh, and Becca, Ted looks GORGEOUS in that photo.

Yeah, looks like I was slacking in my pet introductions!

So this is Boots. He's my BABY. He's pretty much a dog in a cat suit. Sits on command and everything. He's 8 now and has had a rough go of things. He's been epileptic since he was 3, arthritic since he was 4, and can't go longer than about 6 months before he needs to see the vet again for something unrelated.

I like animals, but most of all I love cats. I have two male cats. Both of them were found in the street. The older is Jakob, he is black as a night, Panteleimonas is grey, I would say he is blue. I reared him from feeding bottle since he was about a week old when I got him. The veterinary didn't dare to promise that he would survive, though he is alive (my cat not veterinariy :-))
I used to give a shelter in my 53m3 apartment to stray cats until I found a new owner for them. I have some pictures of my pupils in my album and in my group, called "Cat Lovers".
Using this opportunity I would like to invite all cat lovers to join my group.
If I have a chance I would have a dog - most likely Irish setter - and a horse.

That's funny - I had the same reaction to Panteleimonas. He looks so much like a cat I used to have. We actually had two grey cats when I was a teenager. One was mostly gray but with whitish stripes too. That was Smoky (I named him when I was like 4, hence the totally uncreative name). But the other one we had, Asterisk, was all gray and looked just like Panteleimonas. It almost made me cry! Looked just like my 'Risky, who is now long gone. Sigh.

I am not sure Beautiful, that our cats can be brothers, but I am sure that they are of one of the most beautiful breed. I sew a few cats of similar color in Cyprus. I watched one of them killing a snake. Now I know why Cypriots value cats so much - they kill snakes.

You can view them in my album entitled "The Pepper Files" (lol, how original). :) This link should take you there: PEPPER FILES (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/album.php?albumid=32)

How can anyone not love cats? They don't have to do anything except be adorable. I love my own cat to distraction even though I know that she knows she is the boss. She has a free hand in the house and garden and I am merely there to feed and look after her. I would be the same with any cat because they are all so gorgeous.

OK I have decided to bring this thread back because I need your help pet owners!!!!

I'm doing a research on animals affect on the owners health mainly mental health. I made a questionnaire and it's being proofread and hopefully agreed by my instructor. it's about 30 questions mainly easy to answer, most of them just require an X were you think is right.

I'll have it translated tonight hopefully and here on the thread tomorrow if that is OK. you just copy it and can e-mail it to me when your done...

it would help me out a lot I need as many as possible to make it a good research cause I'm planning on doing two of them one Quantitative (this one ) and one qualitative next month... any questions just PM me or ask here...

hope this is OK...

New babies!
We've got two new yearlings that we got as a trade for our old, school horse.

They need new names (both are girls!) and no typical names like 'Storm' or 'Fancy'. They need names that go together (e.g. Milo and Otis, Ren and Stimpy, etc, but girl names...) so fire away!
