Night's Breath

The moon shall melt
and shall flow down
Our tears shall fall
to join the snow of winter
Roses' petals freeze with ice
Each wolf will cry out
Every branch will weep
like the willow of the forest
The stars shall dim
as if their hearts were taken
Even the night flowers feel
and shall not glow

The tears of a child
slides down the soft cheek
Night will threaten all
and swallow the innocent
The wind stings the child's face
as it moans through the black
When all have lost hope
and the chilling frost bites
The world shall call out
desperate for a loving touch
Only to hear one thing
My calm voice to comfort them

I like the way this poem shows the joining, and the similarities between, human beings and nature. 'The wind stings the childs face / as it moans through the black'. the moaning could be the wind or the child or even both.

excellent poem, excellent imagery ('frost bites'). Thank you for posting and keep them coming ShadowFire.
