In books there is a lot of imagery and not much advise. There aren't many passages that would fit well into a book of quotations. Why don't authors just right books of proverbs with pratical advice? Why all of the words (poetic imagery) inbetween? What is the pratical value of art and, if there is no pratical value, than what is its value?
