I thought about Annabel Lee
And there was a tear in my eye
She still is lying, never once moving
In her sepulchre, there down by the sea
Where the rust of the ages
And the winds of the night
Erode away the beauty
That held Edgar in such delight

As the sea pounds
Upon this broken shore
I hear the sound of his weeping
Here, down by the sea
The stars are still shining,
When she weeps they fall from the sky
The moonbeams, they are still dreaming
Of a higher purpose than I
And is this where life ends up
When love is cast upon the rocks
The dreams of the fickle millions
Tormenting the nightmares of one

The dusty stagnant professors wile away their lives
Explaining that it was never meant to be
I still find myself upon one knee
In this kingdom down by the sea
And Edgar’s soul is still burdened
And he cries out to me
And to anyone, for that matter
Who is down here by the sea

The souls never to be severed from each other
The price of love must be
To question without questions
That you love equally
And through the eons of the seconds
You can hear one as pathetic as I
Asking questions of the merciless sun
Down here by the sea

I guess they say it always ends this way
And it is as it was always meant to be
The ages still tick, the stars still fall
Upon the sepulchre of marble
That keeps her from me
Trapped in the dreams of the falling stars
The faintest thought of all eternity
The love of Annabel Lee

Of course this caught my eye, and I thought you did a good job with it, very dark and moving.
