Set in 1970's San Francisco one can only imagine the characters, and it doesn't dissapoint. The book follows the lives of residents of an apartment complex, starting with Mary Ann Singleton the new arrival who just moved from Cleveland and seems to be the anchor of all the nuttiness that goes on around her from the pot smoking landlady to the ornery advertising executiver Edward Halcyon.

It reads like a soap opera we get little snippets of the lives of each character. There are twists and turns at every corner and in some instances seems a little to convenient but overall another fun read, I'm off to get the next in the series...

3.5/5
