When I feel down I start moving out and walk and walk. I love walking and I feel by walking I can keep my self cool and the stress level will go down.

And if still stress continues I start meditation and meditation. Very deep meditation, that is, when you completely empty yourself then you will kind of keep your self alright after a while.

I know some people indulge in drinking and others travel.

I am curious how do you do it?

I normally just take some time for me. Most often I'll cook, read, or write all while listening to a favorite album. Sometimes I fight. I miss martial arts because that was my outlet for the agression that seems to come when I stress. Nothing cures a bad week like going up on a Friday night, strapping on some padding, and fighting for an hour or two. I'll still practice my skills when things get tough. I did Karate, but Tai Chi is great for stress relief as well.

When I am stressed, I walk in the field behind my house. I prayer, read, try to meditate, and even cry. I have an animal that helps to be soothing, but I mainly try to work the stress out myself. I'm not big into sharing with others. Overall, I try to live a stress free life as much as possible. Such reactions as drinking usually makes stress worse, so I'd suggest people avoid that reaction.

I pray. Usually my prayers end up in frustrated tears but then there's usually a peace that comes in letting it out to God. Also, I've taken to running on the treadmill when I cannot get the stress or thoughts to go away...usually I pray at the same time I do that.

I head out to the barn and sit in the field with the horses and a good book. Nothing relieves a bit of stress and tension like having my boy come over and graze within a foot of me.

booze

Ok, I'm kidding. Sort of, I do like to go out for drinks every once in a while but if I'm at work I generally go for a walk in back of the plant.

I'm usually stressed in school (cramming, hopping from one building to another, etc) and it doesn't hurt to sit beside a tree on a clear blue day and watch the surroundings. (Fortunately, we have lots of trees in the university.) On rainy days, I take a seat near the window and just stare at the gray skies for hours on end. I read or listen to music when at home.

I go like this :flare: and then I eat some chocolate. I don't think it's unhealthy to freak occasionally. Bottling it up is worse I think.

I just take a deep breath and try to find myself something to do, I should start taking walks or something like that. I often just push it down and try to forget about it, that may not be the best idea...

My pet a grey cat helps me most of the times, he feels when I need his presence. Another anti-stress is talking to my best friend, she always makes me laugh. When I am away from home and can't talk to my friend or stroke my cat, I swim or draw something I really like.

I normally do either or all of the following:
- run away and scream
- flap my arms
- tell everyone how stressed I am
- swim
- jog
- smoke
- smash things
- meditate

It depends... I'll try to deal with whatever is causing the stress. Recently I had a horrible experience though, and that just took some time and then various things to finally get past it and now it's over and behind me, um, The Beatles helped a lot! and I listened to a ton of Vivaldi, and just lived life and talked to friends helped a lot, and then I've been studying chess more. I try to engage myself and learn things as much as possible, it helps a lot. Reading too. And I was also listening to Devendra last night and tonight. So music. And also I'm the same as you Blaze with walking. Actually I try to walk several miles every day. And then do some writing exercises or chant mantras, or listening to Srimad Bhagavatam always helps.

I do not manage stress. I do not have stress when I write and so I would say writing for me is a true distresser. It makes me feel better.

I recite mantras and try to pay attention to the stress or be conscious of it. The mantras keep my mind busy on something besides what is causing the stress. Paying attention to what I am feeling puts me in a position where I am observing the stress and gives me a place to stand in case I have to make a choice. Hopefully both techniques give me some control and help slow the stress down. I suppose paying attention is a sort of meditation focusing as an observer on the stress.

Normally I don't do anything, I just wait for the stress to dissipate.

Like I said before, I try to avoid the booze. I may swear a lot. I also may start yelling, so I try to go somewhere and get that out of my system. But I usually try to do something about the stress, so I can reduce it in the future.

I get high or drunk. Not a sustainable nor a particularly wise solution in the long run; but it is easy.

I manifest an internal entity called The Grumbler who goes on and on and on and on about what ever it is - usually concerning what I'm going to say to whom, or what I'm going to do as a result, until I get sick of him and I tell him to shut up. Then I find the stress has gone and I'm in a much better mood.

It's much better, less damaging and inconveniant than actually saying anything.

If the situation is just something overwhelming that is within my control and which I'm expected to resolve, I take the problem apart and focus on one thing at a time. I keep myself bullying on and take twenty minute breaks every three hours during which I force myself not to think about the problem.

If it's outside of my control and I just want the stress to go away until the situation resolves itself because there's nothing I can do, ativan.

I squeeze stress balls at work! Usually I try to express how I feel in the moment so it's done and dealt with. Talk and write stuff through. Keep active. When all else fails, shut down mode and Foxtel. I'm tired...

This is a very apt question for me to answer. Usually I turn to books. I get lost in the magical world that books have to offer. Unfortunately, we eventually need to face the challenges. So aside from reading, I always send out a little prayer. Not just for me to get over whatever challenges, but to thank Him that despite the problems we have I still have a life and blessed with friends and family.

I've never heard of co-workers referred to as stress balls before. But it makes sense.

I find that after the third pint of draft Guiness that I'm so much more relaxed.
For some reason it also gives me an appetite, especially for something like cabbage and bacon.
After, I sleep the sleep of the dead and wake up totally refreshed.

When I have a very stressful moment I start running. Nothing helps me better than doing sports, especially running. First of all I was uncertain if running would help me (I was never a sporty person), but after I tried (I started in february, I saw "silver linings") I realized, that it works much better than clean up my place or read a book or listen to music or something like that. Now I do sports almost every second day to stay in training, except I'm ill or if I'm not in the right physical shape (last week I had two locked vertebra and that wasn't so much fun). But I think there are no generalities against stress.

Music, simple as that. Singing it, listening to it.

2012 Juniper was so much more driven than 2013 Juniper. Now I just kind of do this:

To reduce the stress I listen to music. The music has a power to take us to a new world. Depending upon the type of the music we became happy or ad. But I like to listen to melodies always but the sad will be by hearing the words not because of the real reason for the stress.
