I love Kriana...
I think it's a difficult process to change your name, but after my grandma died I wanted to have her name, Emma, but I still don't want to loose my name and Helga Emma just doesn't sound good so when I was pregnant I decided that if I'd have a girl I'd name her Emma, but I didn't have a girl and I don't think I'll have another one so... don't know

Fourth vote is mine! ;)

I love Krystal, but on the other hand Kriana is much rarer and therefore more attractive. You would definitely draw attention if it is Kriana. I go with Kriana.

What's its origin? I've been searching but found nothing? It sounds like Scandinavian to me... hmmm ... could it be some variant of Kristanna?

If you dislike how Helga Emma sounds you could probably put another name in the middle, as a link between them, like Helga Marie Emma for example. I believe that one sounds good.

Other options that sound good to me: Helga Maria Emma, Helga Elizabeth Emma, Helga Carina Emma. Of course you should consider your last name and see if you like the whole sound, with all the names put together :) I hope I've helped.

Why dont you collaborate the two and go with Krystiana?

No offence Jekan, but I always thought you were a guy!

I've always thought my name should be Jennifer because that was my mother's favourite name from the time she was really young and that was what she wanted to name me and has always reminded me of that. It's like I feel bad!!

Lots of people have a ghost name, the opposite sex name their parents prepared for them. Guys, want to get in touch with your feminine side? Mine's called Carol.

My "If I had been born a boy" names are Stevie Jr or Israel. My "almost" names are Natasha, Taviah, or Anastasia. Not sure how they settled on Nikki. :D

I always thought it'd be cool if I had been named after my great-grandmas Hazel or Dorothy, or something Jewish as my mother originally wanted.

I don't know what my dream name would be. When I was little I really hated my name and wished that I was named Kristy or Britney or Tiffani or Stepanie or Bethany or Kimberly...there's a pattern here - they all end in a long e sound . Now, as an adult, I am thankful that I don't have any of those names. I don't really think about my name that much. I don't hate my name but I am thankful that my name is not Bertha or Gertrude. No offense to any persons out there reading this who may have those names. It's just that those names conjure images of stern, unfriendly, unnattractive characters. And it's always fun to encounter someone who has a name that doesn't suit their personality or occupation at all. Like the masculine woman with short hair who works at the auto-body shop up the road from my house. Her name is Bambi. And a lot of men around here have nicknames that are in direct opposition to a physical trait that they have. My grandfather, who is really tall, is known as Tiny. And there's always some plump guy known as Slim. It goes on. I like things like that.

Oh, and about the two names - I have to say that I can't decide. I guess I'm just neutral on both. I used to like the name Hannah, but then that whole Hannah Montana thing happened and my favorite name has lost its appeal.

Niamh's plan can be good jekan, so you can have a bit of both in one :)

I thought the same! She's such a mischievous fox-girl that she's been cheating on us all the time!!

Jennifer is a great name. It's one of those names I would have liked my mum to give me if I had been born a girl.

Geez... I really have no clue - I like them both!

BTW, totaly not the question here but I thought I might mention it: the domain name for Kriana is already taken: [click] (http://www.kriana.com/).

And if I could change my name... I would not change a single thing. I have family names, with a bit of a twist to them and I really like them :) I think my parents did a good job when they had to figure out how to call a little baby girl :D

Kriana is a lovely and unusual name. What makes you want to change your name?

Krystal is a pretty name too but I think it's a bit trendy. So if you're looking for something different I would go with Kriana.

Although I do quite like Niamh's suggestion of combining the two.

As for my dream name...well that's a toughie. I really don't know what I would choose. I used to really like the name Fiona, but in light of Shrek, I don't think I would ever go for that name now :P I also like my middle name, Erina, but it's often mispronounced.

Hi, I don't know you. ;) But I like Kriana much more than Krystal. I agree with those who mentioned dislike of Krystal and their reasons . . .

My "ghost name" is William. But I prefer my real name so much more. I'm so glad my name is interesting and unique, not normal, as it would have been if I had been born a boy. I used to wish my name were "Ivy," but I'm quite content with my name at the moment and couldn't possibly imagine wanting to change it. Don't worry, my real name isn't kratsayra. :p

Chava

My mom wanted to name me Ida (danish pronounciation "ee-da") instead it is Sunniva ("Sun-ni-va"). If I was a boy it'd have been a nordic name with an S too. Like Sigurd, Silas, or Sigmund.

Ghost name David William Russell.

When I played lets pretend when I was a kid I always wanted to be sophie. I grew out of it though I like my name not aesthetically but rather because its mine. Anyone else think that?

keep liking it, it's a really beautiful name despite Shrek! :)

Normally we tend to associate names with certain characters, but there are other Fionas who have nothing to do with Shrek's Fiona and who were born much before Shrek's Fiona, like Fiona Harold (Irish dancer, and she's totally different from Shrek's Fiona, and you can take my word for that if you don't know her ;))
Of course there's always the drawback that Shrek's Fiona is too popular, but anyways you are a long way from her, so don't worry.

Erina is stressed upon the i, am I correct?

I would have to change to Lyssandra myself, but I'm pretty happy with my current name:D As for the above, if you are going for something truly unique the Kriana. If you want something more mainstream then certainly Krystal.

Meg is a beautiful name. I'd like to be a Meg if I were a girl. ;)
Jekan, I still go with Kriana. It's the best choice if you don't want to bear a conventional name. :thumbs_up

I've heard Krystal and Kriana, but they both are nice. To be honest I prefer Krystal...
I'd call myself BOB...just kidding, I'm a girl.
I'd say a name that comes from Greek or is Greek, for example Callipso or something like that.......otherwise, I'm fine with my name because it's completely unique. So, I don't really want to change my name.

I've always liked Claudia. I think because I associate it with some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. I used to think Courtney was cute. I liked Isabella until I realized how commonly it's used. Janna is fun.

My mother liked names that were at least 2,000 years old - no trendy names for her. In fact, my mother liked everything classic.

An alternative to the original proposition would be what is your nightmare name.

I once went walking in the country with a woman colleague and during the walk we got to talking about names and I told her I couldn't abide the name Brenda. She replied somewhat acidly that her mother's name was Brenda.
Names often conjure up images that may not actually match the bearer. We have here in the UK a member of parliament named Hilary Benn and although I don't know his sexual proclivities, the name sounds very camp.

A scene from one of my favourite comedian's (Tony Hancock) programmes has him being taken by his sidekick Sid James to get his publicity photos updated and James points to the photographer's and says: "There you are Hancock, Hilary St Clair -Photographer to the Stars." And Hancock replies:" Blimey! I bet he's all corduroys and blow waves."

Oooh I love it when I get an opportunity to talk about dream thingsies - like dream-name, dream-house, dream-boy, dream-robot, dream-dog, dream-world, and anything dreamsy.

Now coming to think of it, I can't keep my dreams confined to one single name. But generally I am quite fond of LOTR names. Like Eowyn, Galadriel and Tinuviel. Other than this, I quite like Miriam and Anastasia. Leila, Maarvi, Maria, Liisa and Annie too.
