Lottery! synopsis:

in 2033, there's a panic in America as an astroid will hit L.A and several other cities, the government begin negociation and extraction plans, to move citizens to other countries, but there are only a limit of people that the countries are willing to take on, also there are lack of planes to carry up 80 million civilains, the government are forced to do a lottery draw who ever names are picked out the hat will get a ticket out of the country, the stories main characters, husband and wife Chris and Maria are scared as a letter comes through there letter box, Maria discovers that Chris is only one who's name is on the letter, Maria is happy for him but Chris sacrifices his place for his wife?

The possible twist!
The Astroid may not be what the goverment were actually seeing?

Isn't this similar to deep impact whereby people were chosen to hide in an underground shelter instead of evacuation?

Sounds a lot like a Philip K. Dick novel.

And as the above poster said: are you actually going to write any of these? I don't see why you keep posting ideas in a short story forum. I don't say this condescendingly, but how about actually fleshing something out?

u kro, i have been seeing u put a lot of ideas for stories and a lot of them sound like they have a lot of potential. when are u going to write them? i would really enjoy to read these stories.

boy im getting tired i ment "u kno" not "u kro" and yes for those who r wondering i can spell better and use some better punctuation and grammer but i type fast when im doing these i assure u tho if i ever post one of my stories or poems it will b a little more readable
