Happy Birthday, LadyW! :)

An interview with LadyW:

Why are we doing this interview thing?
I presume, to get to know everyone just that little bit better.

Are you sure you want to do this?
I am positive.

Got milk?
I believe we have some in... always good.

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?
The cookie monster. That would make sense.

If you had a personal theme song what would it be?
Sea Within a Sea - The Horrors

Are you male or female?
Female.

What makes you keep coming back?
I enjoy reading other peoples discussions; I get lots of new ideas from them. I should probably contribute more.
Also, I like to check how everyone's doing.

Are you happy with the way things are here?
I am.

Which countries have you visited?
Not that many I'm afraid (nowhere near as many as I'd like to.)
Wales, France, Spain, Italy.

How do you like your home town?
Hm, the part of Manchester I live in is okay... a little dull, but we have great access to both the city and country - so that's nice.

If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?
PARIS.
(For those of you who don't really know me, I have an obsession with Paris despite never having visited.)

Do you have any pets?
No pets.

What makes you happy?
Lots of things really.
Sunshine. Smells that remind me of old times. Laughing at nothing. Finding new/old songs. Cranberry juice.

What is mankind's biggest achievement, and its greatest downfall?
Achievement: Surviving.
Downfall: I'm sure we'll find out.

Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism?
Quite.
Well... I don't know actually.
I know where I stand on that subject, but I occasionally have issues with my own existence... like one continuous existential crisis.
But then again, sometimes, I'm happy just not knowing why we're really here.

Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?
I recently saw the movie "Drag Me To Hell" (it was a cheerful night out, really) and after seeing it, I think I'm going to go with Alison Lohman.

Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?
An Owl.

What were your favorite things to do the past? What about now?
I used to really love being on my own, and spending time just thinking things over.
Now I much prefer to be in the company of other people, talking to them, and trying to understand where they're coming from.

What makes you feel great about yourself?
When I make someone laugh.

How did you meet your significant other?
N/A

Who inspires you most?
Oh, everyone.

What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)
I'm not sure. Still looking, perhaps?

What is the one thing you must do before you die?
Go to Paris.

If you had to teach something, what would you teach?
English Literature.
:)

What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?
I couldn't say really.

What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?
Trying new things and breaking a few rules; taking risks.

What is your role in an emergency situation: the 911 dialer, the person who runs to the scene to help, the video recorder, or the person too overcome by shock to do anything?
The 911 dialer, the assistant to the person who "runs to the scene to help" and the person keeping the shocked person calm.

What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn't have to worry over food and water?
A notepad and pen.

What song is in your head at the moment?
Lisztomania - Phoenix
(I highly recommend it)

Which book are you reading at the moment?
Various revision guides.
(I have 10 exams left.)

The last book you finished reading?
GCSE Maths Revision Guide, haha.

What is your favourite quote?
Okay, apologies; there's two and they're rather long.

"PLAYBOY: Would you classify sex among your wants, wherever you go?

DYLAN: Sex is a temporary thing; sex isn't love. You can get sex anywhere. If you're looking for someone to love you, now that's different. I guess you have to stay in college for that.

PLAYBOY: Since you didn't stay in college, does that mean you haven't found someone to love you?

DYLAN: Let's go on to the next question."

Fantasy love is much better than reality love. Never doing it is very exciting. The most exciting attractions are between two opposites that never meet.
Andy Warhol

Favorite food?/ Comfort food?
Chicken is my favourite food.
Bread is my comfort food.

What time of day do you most often find yourself on the LitNet?
Probably around 4pm. Sometimes 7.

I always loved The Listeners by Walter De La Mare

First novel you remember reading on your own?
I can't recall.

What era do you find most of the books you read are from?
I'm not sure really, I don't think I have a particular era. Just whatever tickles my fancy at the time.

Favorite TV shows?
I don't really watch alot of T.V.
I like Come Dine With Me, and a bunch of sitcoms... Scrubs.
But mostly the music channels (NME.)

Which LitNet members would you like to meet in person if you could?
TheInsomniac.

Favorite post on the Forum?
Oh I'd look back, but I guess I'm too lazy. Also, I need to crack on with revision soon - geography exam tomorrow.

Favorite thread?
The "Lote-Tree Fan Club" thread was hilarious, but that's an old one... I quite like the LitNetPhotoalbum, it's interesting.

Last food did you have?
Tonight? I had pork.

Last words you said out loud?
"Thank you"
My mum made me some tea :)

Last person you hugged/kissed?
My friend Emily - just a hug though.

N/A

What question would you like to ask yourself?
"Are you sure you're okay?"
Yes.

What would you like to be if you could change your profession?
A music video producer.

Least favorite book/song/movie?
Oh come on now, there's way too many to list...
- I didn't care for Pride and Prejudice.
- Anything by Oasis is average at best.
- Most horror films fail to impress.

The most generous thing you have done?
I'm not too sure really.
But I do remember when I was younger... I got all the kids on my street to save empty Sunny-D bottles. I gathered them all, filled them with water; put them in a large package and wrote "Ethiopia" on the front in biro. I told my mum to take it to the post office.

What was your very favorite moment in your life so far?
It's so hard to pick one moment.
Ah, I can think of one.
But I'm keeping that if it's all the same to you ;)

What scares you?
The prospect of being alone and abandoned.

What is your most outstanding feature?
Outstanding as in distinctive? Probably my hair.

If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?
My skin, it still has scars from acne in my early teens :(

Which book do you wish you had written?
My own, haha.

What is your favorite book cover?
I still love The Rainbow Fish... it had a sequin!

Most and least favorite characters from books?
Least favourite: Pretty much everyone in Wuthering Heights.
Favourite: Rochester ;)

What would your biography be titled?
"I Fell In A Bin."

What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?
Geography revision.

Why the airplane window shields need to be lifted up during take off and landing?
I don't know... but I like looking out.

If you could only rescue one item from your burning house, what would it be, and why?
My notepad.
It contains doodles, photos, letters, notes, stories from past and present.

Wonderful Superman or depressing Batman?
Neither.

The most embarrassing moment in your life?
Just coming in above falling in a bin is falling down the stairs, head first, in a full cinema...while the film was on...and I was wearing a dress - which came up at the back.

Which literary character (s) have you been told to resemble the most?
Hermione (Harry Potter)
Because of the hair...
And also, Jane Austen's Emma.

List some of the things that annoy you immensely.
Lateness.
Ignorance.
When people sneeze and don't cover their mouths/noses.
Bone cracking.
Bad manners.

Anything that you want to forget but you never can?
Yes. But... nevermind :)

Tell us about some amusing translation mistake you have heard or made yourself.
Mistake? Me? Jamais!
:)
I haven't made an amusing one... yet.

If you had to lose one of your senses, which would you choose and why?
Taste.
Because although I'd much rather have the sense of taste... the others are slightly more precious.

What’s the first thing you’ll do in an embarrassing situation?
Go red and laugh... quite high-pitched too.

Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?
Pursuit ;):thumbs_up

What gives your life meaning?
The constant state of confusion in regards to what is the meaning... gives meaning, I suppose.

What type of Faerie would you like to be and why?
I'm not aware of the various kinds, unfortunately.

What makes you laugh?
Everything.

What was the happiest period of your life and why?
Oh I don't think I could pick a period... it wouldn't have been long enough. I have short spells every so often.

Do those animated smilies ever get tired?
Think of them day after day, dancing or crashing computers or laughing or crying till the end of time...
:)

What part of “Final” don’t you understand?
Oh, I think I get it.

One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?
You're either pregnant, or you're not.

What would you like to ask to the person to be interviewed after you?
How often do you tell lies?

Maybe that's why they're starving. All you sent was water. :D

What scares you?
The prospect of being alone and abandoned.
Ah, don't worry about that. You're too sweet to be abandoned. :)

Although the bin was head first (and I shall tell you the full story of that sometime if you wish), the stairs hurt more because I banged the bottom of my spine on the edge of the step.
It was agonizing but I couldn't help but laugh... quite a funny picture.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes!

Aghhh! That poor spine bottom

(Normally when I fall I don't laugh. I explode in fury , curse in silence and try not to be seen, though the latter is somewhat impossible if you fall in public places :D)
