The Painted Bird help needed

I have just finished reading The Painted Bird by Jerzy Kosinski for my English Independent Study Project. I was wondering if anyone else has read this novel and if they have any ideas for me for a thesis. I was thinking about writing the essay on the theme of survival, coming of age, or how Jerzy creates a dark world through his language, vocabulary, and horrifying scenes he describes.

Anyone else? The person who pm me sent me her homepage for some reason and said there was a poem about painting a bird there. Don't even ask. I don't know why myself.

Anyone on this forum actually read this novel? It has been placed by many authors on their top ten, yet seems to be fairly unknown by the literature community.
