Hard to Please - by ~Sophia~
I was going to write allegorically
about flowers as sluts - you know
pretty colored petticoats spread from dawn to dusk
a virtual self-serve convenience store with
re-fillable cups but that’s been done so often
the editor said it made his stinger limp
then I thought a nymph exposé might pique his
interest but he didn’t find anything remotely compelling
in Webster’s definition “an artificial fly made to resemble
the aquatic nymph of an insect, used in fishing”
now I’m writing an elegy titled
“ Dying in the Underbelly of a Camel”
and he hasn’t said a word.
