Is the Stand a book that people in this club would be interested in reading? I thought it was a very good book and would love to read it again but I don't want to waste a nomination if no one else is a King fan. What are your thoughts?

I like it and wouldn't mind reading it again, but it is kind of long.

Is it a horror? Anything like IT?

It is not so much horror. People are put in a situation of anarchy where they have to choose to join the good group or the bad group. So there is an evil side but there is more to this story than scare tactics and horror. I believe this is King's best literary work and if there is one book you should read by him this is it. Although I did really enjoy the Dark Tower series. Yes, it is a long book but one that is hard to put down :)
