I suffer from insomnia and wrote this one night a few weeks ago when i could not sleep.

I dedicate it to the sleepless...

O! me in this piano room keys that drift on liquid sound
So gentle on my fingers taking soft form melting together
Fusing in the air around me just this once, just fleetingly
Gathering each note in my basket of incivility and crushing them
Into a wine of great Dionysian intoxicant
Shamanistic trance pounding blood I feel it in my ears
My heartbeat steady solid like the concrete that built it
And the shuddering machinery in the miasma of these nights
That seem never to end when sleep is late or absent
I hope you will help me tolerate these tiny white bullets that enter me
Internal desire to sleep is overwhelming and bodily functions decay
In wild invisible contortions
I am obsessed with the complexities of sleep
With endless imagery building a catalogue of dreams on this nightmare raft
Sinking it

Well, at least the insomnia is good for something - I think this is a wonderful poem :)

The first 6 lines are quite a mystery to me, but the last line with "building a catalogue of dreams" made me think of images of daydreams. Or "awake dreams" ;)
I really like the concrete in combination with the heartbeat, the toleration of the white bullets and the last 2 lines are grand!

Thank you for sharing and I hope you will find that sleep soon!
