Meeting with your own self is the main point for feeling alive. If you don't meet with yourself, even if you are aware of it, you won’t feel the reality of life! And, in order to be able to experience yourself as your real self while you are together, you have to be familiar with the way your own self works. Before it will be worth your time to work on your self-induction methods, you should be able to establish at least one self to start with.

Getting plenty of yourselves is the first step to good self-relation. If you are alone it will be easier to focus on your goal of knowing your own self, and you won’t mind so much taking the time to concentrate on your self. Another benefit of this is that periods you devote to your self get longer and closer together as yourselfness proceeds. The first period of that experiment is the shortest, perhaps ten mintes in length, while after eight hours of yourselfness can be fortyfive minutes to an hour long. We are all sometimes with ourselves every day, sometimes every night, too. People who say they are never themselves simply never remember their times of being with themselves. You may have more then one period of being with your self, separated by short periods of togetherness with other people that are most often forgotten. It is generally accepted among people who try to know themselves that these periods are not recalled unless the person is directly involved in the situation, rather than being just an observer.

It can be useful while you are in these situations to keep a kind of journal handy in your bag and record every thought you remember, no matter how fragmentary. Start by writing down all your random thoughts, not just the complete, coherent, or interesting ones, write it down.

We seem to have built-in thoughts erasers in our minds, so, whenever you think of something, write it down. If you don't feel like writing out a long thought story, note down key points of the plot. Also write down the precise content of any dialogue from your thoughts, because words will be forgotten in a very short time.

Possibly, all you will need to do to increase your self recall is to remind yourself that you wish to get to know yourself fully from your thoughts and remember them. This may help to tell yourself you will have interesting, meaningful thoughts. Before attempting to write down the thought, go over it in your mind, re-telling it to yourself. Cling to any clues of what you might have been experiencing - moods, feelings, fragments of images, and try to rebuild your thoughts from them. If after a few minutes, all you remember is a mood, describe it. If you can recall nothing, try imagining a thought or an experience you might have had, note your present feelings, list your current concerns to yourself, and ask yourself, "Did I think about that?" Be ready to notice this when it happens, and record whatever you think.

To remind yourself of your intentions and get yourself into the spirit of your self, read through your thoughts journal at any time. Learning to remember yourself may at first seem difficult but if your persist on it, you will almost certainly succeed. Of course, once you reach a certain level, you probably won't want to write them all down - just the significant or compelling ones. And, the more familiar you become with the style of your own thoughts, the easier it will be to remember you are thinking while you are living - and explore the world of yourself while still on the scene.
